Alison Bode is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200), Massage Teacher and Certified Massage Therapist specializing in Orthopedic and Oncology Massage. In 2011, She received her B.A in Philosophy from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. After graduation, Alison went on to study massage at California Holistic Institute, Esalen Institute and The Academy of Clinical Massage.  In 2016, Alison completed her yoga teacher training at Kripalu School of Yoga and Ayurveda.  Alison uses a simple approach to both yoga and massage.

In her massage practice, she sees clients for both general relaxation massage and clinical massage to provide relief from specific pain. In both cases, her practice aims to provide the best therapeutic experience for her clients. She always offers complimentary 30-minute assessments for every new client. During the assessment, which she listens carefully to each individual's concerns, assesses their specific needs and then tailors each session for optimum results, relying on both careful observation and an in depth understanding of anatomy.  At the end of each session, she takes time to present a summary of what she noticed in the session and teaches simple stretches and provides a recommendation for future sessions.  Most often, she combines Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Lomi Lomi, Orthopedic and Myofascial Release techniques to create an individualized therapeutic experience. When she is not practicing massage, teaches massage to new therapists at California Holistic Institute in San Luis Obispo.

In her yoga teaching, Alison also approaches each person as an individual. It is her strong belief that yoga is for everyone. She takes care to teach classes that can accommodate a wide variety of experiences from the first time student to the seasoned yogi. She is committed to helping others connect to their own bodies and experiences through breath and meditative movement. Always learning more, Alison is currently working towards a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
